Exotic florals, a cake adorned with ornate details and a warm romantic setting.
This editorial at Avani Victoria Falls Resort was the perfect opportunity to showcase my love of handmade paper and ornate wreaths. Beginning with the save-the-date, I wanted to highlight the rich colours of the venue. The stationery colour palette featured subtle orange, sage green and an accent tone of shimmery silver to compliment the silverware. The Save The Date featured a smaller version of the double wreath design.
For the invitation, the ornate double wreath was oversized so that the outer wreath surrounded the paper as a delicate foliage frame. I followed this theme with the reply card – with just a hint of foliage The information card I kept it simple with torn edges and minimal type.

Silver metallic gilded edges add a touch of luxury and shimmer. Torn and deckled edges enhanced the romantic feel of the stationery suite. With the ‘day-of’ paper goods, I worked with an elegant frame shape for the menus and simple classic place cards with elegant calligraphy. To complete the look, I create elegant table numbers with a calligraphy font and an illustrated wreath design.
The Save the Dates carried through this theme of elegance and craftsmanship. Printed on the same luxurious, thick white cardstock as the menus, they featured my hand-drawn illustrations. This personal touch elevated the design while grounding it in the natural beauty of the Zambezi River setting. For the typography, I opted for a more traditional feel, with flowing calligraphy and a minimalist sans serif font to ensure the design felt graceful and modern.
To complete the look, each Save the Date was finished with a hand-stamped wax seal in a soft peach tone, adding a layer of richness and texture that invited tactile interaction. These were paired with pearlescent neutral envelopes, offering a subtle sheen that beautifully complemented the crisp white cardstock and the classic blue tones of the stationery. The envelopes, with just a hint of peach, introduced a touch of warmth that balanced the overall cool, serene color palette.
