PROJECT DETAILS
For the wedding of Likando and Calum, held at the breath-taking Royal Livingstone Resort in Zambia, I was delighted to design elegant, minimal stationery that beautifully captured the couple’s love story.
This stunning celebration, set against the iconic backdrop of Victoria Falls, seamlessly combined modern sophistication with cultural elegance, including the unforgettable touch of a pineapple-adorned aisle.
Working closely with the bride, I ensured the stationery reflected her preference for sleek, modern designs that embraced white space, clean lines, and refined typography.
Styled by the renowned Joy Proctor, the overall design was further elevated with luxurious suede textures and gilded accents. Beyond the stationery, I also had the opportunity to design custom graphics for the dance floor, wedding signage, and various elements of the on-the-day stationery.
The Save the Date suite featured a beautifully simple card accompanied by a delicately textured appliqué layer, showcasing the custom wedding logo I designed for the couple. The invitation suite included an elegant itinerary card and a wedding invitation wrapped in a pineapple-printed vellum sleeve, a nod to the pineapples that adorned the aisle. This was finished with a gilded white wax seal and a sumptuous suede ribbon, adding layers of texture and sophistication.Â
The envelopes, adorned with carefully curated vintage Zambian stamps from my personal collection, tied in perfectly with the suite’s blue tones and the wedding’s extraordinary location. As a subtle tribute to the venue’s Victorian elegance, I also included an antique pineapple illustration on a memento card, which was finished with the same luxurious cream suede ribbon, adding a rich historical dimension to the suite.
For the on-the-day stationery, the place cards and table names, printed on extra-thick smooth cardstock, adhered to the minimalist design ethos and perfectly complemented the wedding’s understated elegance. The tables were named after cities that represented the international locations of the couple’s guests, adding a thoughtful, personal touch.
To ensure the wedding’s various elements were seamlessly applied, many items—including the round dance floor graphics, signage, and menus—required detailed digital designs to be printed locally in Zambia. Designing the dance floor logo required precision to ensure it printed flawlessly at a large scale, maintaining its sharpness and quality.
