PROJECT DETAILS
Exalt Africa is a brand that helps the world esteem Africa with higher regard by showcasing and connecting people with the luxury and talent that lives within her walls.
Tasked with crafting the brand’s visual identity, I designed the main crest logo, and submarks, and provided guidance on typography and font pairings to create a harmonious, luxurious aesthetic.
The main crest is a rich tapestry of symbolism, reflecting the beauty, resilience, and cultural heritage of Africa. At its heart, the sun shines brightly, symbolizing the light and energy that uplifts the continent—much like Africa’s breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, particularly along the iconic Zambezi River. This radiance is further reflected in Exalt Africa’s mission to promote the unseen side of Africa and charm global audiences with her wonders.
To honour the continent’s natural beauty, I selected flame lilies, the national flower of Zimbabwe, as a vibrant representation of Africa’s rich flora, while roses, known for their romantic significance, highlight the exquisite blooms grown in Kenya.
I also incorporated pangolin scale illustrations, pangolins are a rare and protected species and I had the privilege of meeting one once in Zimbabwe at a wildlife sanctuary. These elements added a deeper layer of meaning, symbolizing strength, resilience, and the continent’s deep connection to its wildlife.
In tribute to Exalt Africa’s founder, Mwai Yeboah, I incorporated wooden flowers as a nod to the African artisans whose craft is often a theme in her luxury African events. Anchoring the crest are the bold and iconic protea flowers, native to South Africa, symbolizing courage, diversity, and transformation—values that are essential to the brand’s ethos. The intricate tribal patterns woven throughout the design pay homage to Africa’s diverse cultures, representing the continent’s history, language, and enduring traditions.
To complement the crest, I developed a primary emblem and a sun-inspired submark, both designed to harmonize with the brand’s aesthetic and evoke a sense of timeless sophistication. The typography was meticulously chosen to provide an elegant yet modern touch, ensuring the entire brand identity exudes luxury, refinement, and cultural richness.
With every design choice, my goal was to celebrate Africa’s vast landscapes, intricate cultures, and the modern luxury it offers. The result is a visual identity that tells the story of Exalt Africa a company that elevates the beauty and prestige of African weddings and destinations to the global stage.
