Set against the serene backdrop of the Zambezi River, this classic yet contemporary wedding editorial was a study in understated elegance. The luxurious setting at The Royal Livingstone Resort provided the perfect stage for a timeless affair, illuminated by soft candlelight, sophisticated glassware, and an artfully minimal approach to both florals and stationery.
For this editorial, my vision for the stationery was to create a suite that would stand the test of time—a blend of classic design with subtle modern touches, embodying both tradition and a fresh, contemporary aesthetic.
Pantone’s ‘Classic Blue’ was the colour theme for this stunning shoot. The brides outfit, the napkins, stationery, glassware and florals gave a nod to the timeless colour. The creams and peach tones within the stationery added a touch of warmth to the palette.

The menus were printed in Pantone’s Classic Blue on crisp, smooth white cardstock, a colour choice that not only anchored the palette but also infused the setting with an air of timeless sophistication. To strike a balance between modernity and tradition, I carefully selected typography that blended the fluidity of a handwritten script with the clean lines of a classic sans serif font. This juxtaposition brought a sense of refinement to the stationery while keeping it fresh and enduring.
Each menu was designed to serve a dual purpose, functioning both as a menu and a place card. A delicate hand-debossed line elegantly divided the guest’s name from the meal details, reinforcing the minimalist, clean aesthetic I aimed to achieve. This subtle detail added a touch of artisan craftsmanship while keeping the overall design sleek and sophisticated, perfectly mirroring the event’s refined atmosphere.
The Save the Dates carried through this theme of elegance and craftsmanship. Printed on the same luxurious, thick white cardstock as the menus, they featured my hand-drawn illustrations. This personal touch elevated the design while grounding it in the natural beauty of the Zambezi River setting. For the typography, I opted for a more traditional feel, with flowing calligraphy and a minimalist sans serif font to ensure the design felt graceful and modern.
To complete the look, each Save the Date was finished with a hand-stamped wax seal in a soft peach tone, adding a layer of richness and texture that invited tactile interaction. These were paired with pearlescent neutral envelopes, offering a subtle sheen that beautifully complemented the crisp white cardstock and the classic blue tones of the stationery. The envelopes, with just a hint of peach, introduced a touch of warmth that balanced the overall cool, serene color palette.
